The Metal Parts: Where Quality Shows
Grinding Head (Auger Housing)
The grinding head is the cast metal housing that holds the auger, blade, and die plate. It’s typically made from:
– Cast aluminum (ADC12): Lightweight, good thermal conductivity, needs food-safe coating. Used in home models.
– 304 stainless steel: Heavier, more expensive, no coating needed. Used in commercial models.
